I fell for it. Being told to say yes to everything, network, projects, travel, and rejected for under experienced externals. 8 years and at the same grade level. I just started giving them c+ work. They complain about it but I don’t care. If they don’t like my productivity they can fire me and my happy clappy butt will live on unemployment and savings and heal while we find a new job.

When it gets to the point that I am physically ill at work and praying for death just to avoid going in and the therapist says to run, it’s probably time to run. The struggle is just finding a new job in this market. 😭
