@sydniehamby: i have a theory on why IVF breaks high-achieving women — and it’s not what you think. the hardest part of IVF isn't the injections 💉 it's the loss of control. from a young age, we were taught: work hard → get the result 🏋️‍♀️ this is true in our careers, relationships, education, fitness, etc. 🩰 with IVF, you can do everything right - do the research, take the supplements, eat the perfect fertility diet, practice mindfulness, excercise daily — and still lose. hard work does not always equal success. for high-achieving women, we're used to effort MEANING something. that's why it breaks us. women who are used to success have spent their lives checking achievements off of their to-do lists, and being an active participant in their future.
