So for those of you who think the extinguisher was too small or he didn’t help much, this is called a “reset” in fire terms. It slows the fire, resets it and gives fire fighters critical time to arrive and set up, preventing the fire from its rapid continuous growth.

A small extinguisher is better than no extinguisher. Though it is best to check and see what type of extinguisher you have as using the wrong extinguisher on the wrong type of fire can make things worse
