@desireemony: How do you add in a new ball of yarn when you’re knitting? This is a really cool technique you can use to join a new ball of yarn when you’re knitting or crocheting! I don’t use it all the time. Normally, I would join a new ball of yarn at the end of a row, but when you’re knitting in the round, you can’t. So this trick traps your yarn ends so you can keep knitting and seamlessly transition to your new yarn. Let me know how it goes if you give it a try!
Do I knit? No. Will I ever need to know this? Probably not. Did I find this interesting and want to know more? Absolutely

silly goofy fun fact, but this is actually how you secure ropes together too! especially when you’re looping it around something, that’s actually the best way to hold it (if you get it tight enough anyway)

Is it secure? It looks if you pulled a little bit they will unbind

If it’s natural yarn from wool you can put a little spit on the ends of both, attach them end to end and rub them together in your hands and it’ll fuse

I am so gonna use this for my crochet sweater that I have all the same dye lot of ombre yarn. It will help so much when one skein ends and I have to keep going from another at a color matched point.

I do my yarn joins this way. Since I use acrylic yarn it sometimes wants to split but I still prefer this method.

This would of been perfect for a lot of my projects when I needed to continue or change color cause I just have a knot on mine and sometimes I can’t hide it into the stitches
