@rileejsmith: I may be biased, but nobody talks about Michigan summers enough. 😌🌊 Let’s fix that… Here are 6 of my favorite places to soak up summer in Michigan: 🍷 GLEN ARBOR Humble, unhurried, and a little romantic. Catch live music at Glen Arbor Wines before walking to the beach for sunset, browse the Cottage Book Shop (a personal fav!), and hike Empire Bluff Trailhead - one of the most stunning (and dog-friendly) overlooks over Lake Michigan! 🐾 🍒 TRAVERSE CITY It doesn’t get much better than a beautiful day out on Grand Traverse Bay. Spend the day just floating, or wine hop along the peninsula for some of the best drinks in the state. For dinner, hit up Farm Club or visit Glendale Burger Shop for drool-worthy fries. 🐟 LELAND Also known as “Fishtown,” thanks to the historic fishing shanties that line the docks, now converted into cute little artisan shops and cafes. Just steps away is dog-friendly Van’s Beach, with some of the most gorgeous blue water you’ll ever see - Mulligan-approved. 🐾 ⛵️ SAUGATUCK A gorgeous harbor full of sailboats and yachts, a fun arts scene, and some of the cutest shops! Grab moody drinks at The Cottage and splurge on a stay at Woodwick Inn. How much do I love this town? It’s where we got engaged and I had my bachelorette, if that tells you anything! ◡̈ 🌊 NEW BUFFALO My most recent MI beach stop! Cute boutiques, vintage shops, and patio dining (The Stray Dog has great views!)… but still lowkey enough that you can walk downtown to get ice cream with beach hair on a Friday night and no one cares. 🚲 MACKINAC ISLAND My favorite place in the world. The second you step off the ferry, it’s like stepping back in time. No cars allowed, just bikes and horse-drawn carriages (seriously). Get picturesque views of Lake Huron from all around the island, whether you’re rocking on the world’s largest porch, hiking to Arch Rock, swimming along the shore, or sitting at the Pink Pony with a rum runner in hand (my go-to!) It never loses its magic.
