NICU RN here… our unit is directly attached to our L&D and I’ve seen soon to be or new fathers walking around the unit, hallways, their own rooms, to the nutrition rooms to get water with no socks or shoes on… it grosses me out immediately

okay, so in New Zealand it's very common for people to be barefoot everywhere, like in grocery stores, walking down the streets... and into hospitals!! The number of times I had to tell an adult 'hey, you need to wear shoes in here' and the response is often 'oh, why?' whaaaat?!

I used to work in the hospital and I cringed everyday at stuff like this. I now run clinics and I have posted signs everywhere to not lay on the floor. I’ve seen it. I gag. People are nastyyyyyyy.

Any healthcare facility! Keep them off the damn floor! It’s so gross! Our shoes track from room to room. Sticky bathroom floors 🤔, terrible

People do the same and skilled nursing I always tell them you don’t want your kids crawling around on the floor. All kinds bacteria viruses on the floor, despite the constant cleaning.

As a paramedic I see people let their babies crawl around on the ER floor all the time. Absolutely insane.
