@nealkshah: Never spray perfume on your neck. Here's what's actually happening when you do. The skin on your neck is thinner than almost anywhere else on your body, which means fragrance chemicals absorb faster and deeper there. A UC Berkeley study analyzed 25 popular perfumes and found 23 of them contained phthalates not listed on the label. Phthalates are endocrine disruptors that interfere with your hormone system by mimicking or blocking your natural hormones. They hide behind one word on every ingredient list: "fragrance." Your thyroid sits right there in your neck. It controls your metabolism, your energy levels, your mood, and your temperature regulation. Endocrinologists are clear that limiting repeated exposure to endocrine disruptors is a smart move - especially if you're already managing any hormonal or thyroid condition, which millions of women are. The fragrance industry doesn't have to disclose what's in "fragrance." That word is a legal shield for dozens of undisclosed chemicals. The fix takes two seconds: spray on your clothes, not your skin. Follow for more health information that should be on the label but isn't. #brainhealth #health #cosmetics #agingparents #cancer

Perfume can also damage the skin on your neck. Told this by a cosmetic surgeon 16 years ago. I spray on my clothes only.

OK, I did some searching and there’s an international fragrance association (ifra) and you can Google whether your perfume is IFRA compliant. My expensive French perfumes are all compliant.
