tipping is an extra thank you, its not a bill I have to pay when you're literally getting a salary for THIS JOB. In my opinion, only these kind of services should be tipping worthy.

what really ticks me off is walking into a business or office and the person behind the reception does doesn't even meet you eye to eye or acknowledge you in any way. I don't care if you're busy with someone else or on the phone, you look me in the eye, smile and put up a finger to say one minute so I know I've been seen!

Standard etiquette practice is if I have to go to the counter to order it, no tip. If I sit, you come to me to place my order and then bring me my food, there should be a tip.

Canadian restaurants at least pay minimum wage (Ontario is $17.60) so tipping for me is 15 - 20 %. just about everything else gets no tip.

Same! There's a frozen yogurt place that I've gone to and you serve yourself, including toppings, and then they ask for a tip when you pay...defaulted at 20%!! 🤣🤣
