theres science behind this, for those interested. the general rule is that on the lightest part, its a lighter or true version of the colour. then, on the border of the shadow, the colour becomes more saturated, not just more red, but more saturated. then, the colour becomes muted and shifts towards blue as the shadow progresses. i will draw some examples and send them below.
