Hi! I’m a NICU nurse! When you put your hand on him, it comforted him instantly! Preemies love to be held tight. In your uterus, they were surrounded by a wall holding him tight, while in his bed, his limbs can move and that can be stressful for them. Just putting your hands on him. Holding hand and feet to his body is so reassuring for him! I don’t know if the nurses explained this to you, sorry for repeating if they did!🥰🫶🏻

I had my baby at 28 weeks and after a week in NICU we can finally hold him. he's 30 almost 31 weeks now and finally reached 4 pounds. 2 more weeks and they are gonna try to takes breaks away from CPAP. It's so hard not having him and not holding him but we are all doing our best to keep him safe so we can take him home.
