This applies to soooooo many things and I think its something everyone needs to hear. I try and remind myself that consistency is ALWAYS gonna beat perfection.

Literally I was a YouTuber before it was cool to be but stopped around the pandemic when EVERYONE got online because it was apparent people were only making content to make money not to find their community of like minds. Even though i haven’t made a video in 5 years I still get old subscribers asking me how I am and hoping im okay. They even made a discord dedicated to my channel back in 2017! And All I did was make anime content lol. but as I got older I became so overwhelmed about being perceived online that i stopped posting but my subscribers never left me. I don’t think Tik tokers will have this type of bond youtubers did with their fans and it’s because of shit like this. Wanting quantity over quality when it comes to who follows them. Reminds me of when that one Tik toker had a million followers and did a fan event and no one showed up because people follow anyone on this app it means nothing.

the follow for follow scheme thing is so real. I've been looking for content creator communities to talk to other content creators about what we're doing, but every single "community" like this just devolves into follow for follow nonsense from accounts that never post. It's so sad, because content creation is such a unique experience that I'd love to talk to others about
