I think it's a little crazy that y'all (the asian community ) is only speaking up for the boycott

Ms. Wilkerson :
We’ve been generalized for years by Asian people. Not all, but most beauty supplies and nail shops I went to, I have had the same experiences and they weren’t good! Being followed in stores. Laughed and talked about in our faces just in a your native language. Talked about while getting our feet and nails done. Is it all Asians, no. However, this boycott is to address a larger problem in the black community which is the fact we continue to spend with people who lack respect and empathy for us. We don’t spend our money within our community and this causes other cultures to benefit off our black dollar. These same communities who generalize us as criminals, hoodlums etc and lack empathy for us and our children want our money and expect us to spend our money within them. So, unfortunately, I don’t agree. Asians support Asians, Hispanic people support Hispanic people but when black people do it, we’re racist?! If we’re ever going to build up the black community, we have to start by putting that money into black pockets who will in turn invest in our communities. It shouldn’t cause division, it should cause awareness and solidarity because it’s more about us and less about harming Asians.

Black people have been saying this for years. YEEEARS. One Black person does something and they put alllll Black ppl into a group as “they ALL do it”. I stopped patronizing Asian businesses in 2013 after being followed around a in beauty supply that the owner KNEW I was a frequent customer at. His excuse: “security overzealous”. Ok gotcha. Never went back.

continue to boycott because of all those years of making profit off us, I have yet to see any of those businesses pouring back into the black communities. No community day back to school stuff nada.

They boycott is to redirect money from Asian businesses who profit from the black community. It is because these businesses have been guilty of marginalizing black people and jeopardizing young black people based upon sterotypes of criminality. A 14-year old got chased down and shot in the back for the mistaken belief that he stole a bottle of water. He got the death penalty for a percieved $1 loss. No consequences....not the first time this has happened. Your businesses are in the black community, you rely on the black dollar yet there is no recognition of the harm caused by your anti black biases. Show support for our greivances and acknowledge the need to make changes for peace and safety and there can be reconcilliation. But, to think that you are entitled to our commerce because you are all we have is nonsense.

It’s just funny how they main focus is that they losing money getting “affected” by it but they not saying anything about how wrong it was that a black minor got his life taken away unjustly
