@mybabycation: 👇🏼4 Rules to Teach Your Kids Instead of Yelling “Mom”: ✅In a crowd, “Mom!” is just background noise. We treat safety like a skill, not a scare tactic. Here is our simple, 4-step travel safety plan: ✔️1. Freeze. The second you lose sight of me, stop walking. Stay exactly where you are so I can backtrack and find you. ✔️2. Shout my real name. “Mom” won’t get attention, but screaming my first and last name will instantly alert the crowd. ✔️3. Find a safe adult. Look for someone in a uniform, a worker behind a counter, or another parent with kids. ✔️4. Use the script. Memorize three simple lines: “I’m lost. My name is [ ]. My mom’s name is [ ].” The Golden Rule: “I’ll always find you.” We tell them: “Stay put and don’t panic. I am coming to get you, always.” 📌Start practicing this as early as the toddler years. Keep it confident, not scary. When kids know the plan, panic turns into power. #kidssafety #travelwithkids #kidstravel #traveltips #flyingwithkids

just because someone wears a uniform doesnt make them a safe adult so dont teach your kids that it does

Here's why i don't agree with this- telling your kids to shout your first & last name also let's everyone else around your child know these details which they could then use to trick your child into thinking they know their mum.
secondly most mums would agree, when you hear a child shout mum, most of us automatically turn & look. Most mums who see a lost child would act instinctively to help a lost child.

when we went to HK disneyland (we're from the Philippines), my 5yo son got separated from us. He said he approached the security and told him he's lost. my son provided my name, contact number and address, and we were able to locate him. Apparently, his teacher made them memorized their parents details in case of emergency. ☺️

I remember when I lost my dad, he always whistle when I couldn't find him or him didn't find me.. I walked towards the whistle where that came from.. and now I'm doing that on my kids. When I whistle they always know in nearby or im around. And its so cute when I pick up my child from daycare.. I just whistle instead of yelling her name.. and she just light up looking around trying to find me... mommy ! And runs to me.. 😍

My husband had a very distinct and loud whistle. When the kids were little and went out of our eyeline, he’d whistle and they’d all magically appear

Get a pack of sticky wristbands (the kind used at various venues), and when going somewhere busy, put one in their wrists with your telephone number on. Pretty much everyone carries a phone these days and a lost child only has to ask someone to call the number on their wristband.
Staying still AND looking for a "safe person" is a bit contradictory, especially for littles who might get confused with which one they're supposed to do if they can't figure out how to do both. 😫

For all the “ know it alls” saying that will never be me! Or “ just watch your child “ …. You could be the perfect parent and shit still happens ! Life comes at you fast. It’s okay to just be prepared. … these are great tips! 💕
