i think you have no clue about YuGiOh because the reprint of The Original sets like LOB doesnt hurt the value at all, it was reprinted last year and the 1st edition American print Blue eyes is still 40k in Psa 10. thats because the reprints look like trashy modern day cards, have a different colour, different texture and lack the 1st Edition stamp.

I genuinely don’t think he’s gonna stay long because at a point, he’s gonna realize the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom doesn’t particularly care about collecting we like the game of course we do have stuff that’s like collecting, but most of our stuff is just for the game

Most of the people who buy yu-gi-oh actually play yu-gi-oh so it's not going to hurt the market. If you need a card for your deck you can always find it cheaper.

So, yugioh cards have serial numbers on the card that tell you what card it is and what sets its from. So yes, a first edition Blue Eyes would be worth a lot more than a newer print of Blue Eyes for collectors. I collect my favorite monsters from Yugioh, but only art thats different, so I spring for cheaper, more recent prints as opposed to the original ones. Like Black Rose Dragon from the tin used to be dirt cheap because it was the most common BRD, but now that they no longer sell tins, the card itself is worth how much a tin used to cost maybe more now.

as a yugioh player, I can safely and happily say that if he tries to flip the cards for some insane amount, he will fail, yugioh cards, even the old ones, range from 10-100$, unless it is like a boomer as card like dark magician or blue eyes, but even then it will cost at most 2k, and that's if it's a psa10, if he wanted to flip shit he would have to go to and get an overframe card of a dark magician from the jp sets, but even that card's last sold was 7k, the only cards that really hold on to their values are cards with no reprints and it has to be their highest rarity, like a tournament prize card
