@stephen0_01: Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that focuses on direct experience over scripture. The word Zen comes from the Sanskrit word dhyana which means meditation. Zen teaches that Buddha nature is not something you achieve. It is something you already have. You just cannot see it because your mind is too busy with thoughts judgments and attachments. The practice is to sit still in meditation called zazen. You let thoughts come and go like clouds. You do not grab them. You do not fight them. You just sit. Eventually the clouds clear and your original nature appears. This is called kensho or seeing your true nature. Zen masters use strange stories called koans like what is the sound of one hand clapping to break your logical mind. The goal is not to become special. The goal is to be completely ordinary but completely awake.
