I’m a chard girly 😭 since day 1 😭 but I completely get you!! I just started buying the cards from the first sets and just cards I like now, I have a char binder and a squirtle binder and a vulva binder 😂🙏 I feel like if I don’t master chaos or perfect or pitch black I wasted time and money so I’m gonna keep them for now to finish while I pick up old cards I absolutely love 🥰 IF YOU MAKE A WHATNOT PLS SHIP TO AUS 🙏🙏🙏

in the past week I pulled both the moonbreon and team rocket Giovannis Mewtwo from DR, I am having a similar problem as to whether or not I should sell and capitalise on the market or hold it, a part of me wonders if the only reason I'm keeping them is because of the value and not because of whether or not I genuinely like them 💔 for now I'm keeping them as they fill out my Pokédex binder but if I ever come across a card I want to replace it with I might have to make a decision

also, I feel the selling dupe guilt. I just sold my dupe Cubone from Gem 3 (I needed a new putter) and it went up by $150 cdn overnight

I’m doing the same thing. I had very specific collections mapped out when I started collecting, and slowly I ended up with a “I like these cards but don’t have anywhere to put them” pile. Using them to fund my actual collections now.

sell some of the cards with the most value and the least sentimentality, that way you're really efficient about it and sell less of your collection

kudos for being responsible! it's hard to do that in this hobby lol. I agree about the mini sets- getting the big hits in packs are fun, but I don't necessarily want to see them. the curated mini sets or themed pages are more fun for me

You can always get stuff back if you really want them in the future! Better to be secure incase an emergency happens. The market will go down eventually one day. Might as well get that profit while you can!
