i also tried to be like this during my first months in college even though my family was insisting to buy me an ipad but i refused bc i felt bad. Everyone had atleast an ipad or a laptop for notetaking pero ako notebook and phone lng (phone wasn’t really reliable and my laptop was failing). Nahirapan ako sobra makisabay sa iba and sa profs pero di ko talaga kinaya and i was failing sa major courses ko (my mental health too). They eventually bought me one because my laptop broke and i couldnt be more grateful (my grades improved and DL na ako). Pero until today im still so impressed by others who rely on pen and paper🥹

Actually, meron studies on people using electronics vs people using paper to write, and they saw how using traditional mediums to write on paper is better for learning compared to electronics. reason? because the device can act as a trigger for scrolling and distraction while paper doesn't. Second, because the act of writing on paper makes your brain engage deeper which increases memory retention. side note: you can still use electronics but use app blockers, DND, and silent mode. Tip: try to summarize your notes by closing your books/materials and try to recall and summarize into your own and simplified, and compare it with your materials and check if there any mistakes and adjust accordingly.

For me lang, mas nakakapag-focus ako and madali maka learn ng info pag nagsusulat. I tried it once to use my tablet and di makafocus yung utak ko sa taking notes, mag open ng socials or mag lalaro😭

I prefer writing on a yellow pad rather than using my ipad since wala siyang palm rejection plus nagkaka ick ako sa pagsusulat sa screen.
