@the_geology_dude: Ripple marks are an common stratagraphic up indicator. They are especially helpful in determining the direction that sedimentary rocks were tilted. These ones I found in Utah are a little deceptive. The bed below contained ripple marks that imprinted onto the bed above. This makes the marks point toward stratagraphic down instead of up! #geology #STEM #Utah #desert #rock
