The fact people don’t see why this narratively is the correct choice is wild to me😭 Rin did not do what he did out of egoism and wanting to be the best. He did what he did from being either scared or salty that Isagi was making a play work without his involvement. So he wasn’t actually following Egos philosophy. How can you claim to want to be the best striker when you’re so fixated on Isagi? That’s what got Nagi eliminated and Sae has criticized Rin on multiple occasions for obsessing over Sae. Rin needs to follow his own desire to be the best not just chase other people. Look at Barou. He couldn’t make any plays off of Isagis style so he made one off of Shidous style. Why? Because he’s aiming to score goals in general not just to be in rivalry with one person. What about Karasu? Karasu deep down was chasing the desire to win the game atleast whereas like I said before Rin was just chasing Isagi.
