My perspective on this I don't really enjoy the story in games if I'm not the one driving it forward. In a lets play I have no agency, I can't enjoy the game the same way. It's more about the lets player and how entertaining that content creator is. And reading a wikia or something is even worse that's just dry. So I do need to play it.
