My take: Watching someone who couldn't fully see still refuse to quit was hard to watch. That's what being a fighter is. Win or lose, the heart he showed in that moment deserves respect. Both fighters are incredible and deserve credit. But I also think moments like this are a reminder to have some compassion. People are acting like one loss erases everything Ilia has accomplished, and that's just not true. Was he confident? Absolutely. But if you're undefeated and have accomplished what he has, who wouldn't be? At the end of the day, these are human beings carrying enormous pressure, and we talk a lot about mental health until it's a man who loses and suddenly gets mocked for it. Support your favorites, celebrate the winner, but let's not forget the person behind the fighter.
