@nunnamaryskitchen: Japanese Fried Sando’s 🥪 I will admit this will probably be the first and last time i’m making these as they’re way too addictive and not the healthiest BUT they were so worth it 🤤 SAVE RECIPE 👇🏼 Traditionally you should use Japanese Milk bread but I bought a brioche loaf as it was more convenient Custard * 1½ cups (375ml) milk * 2 egg yolks * 3 tablespoons sugar * 1½ tablespoons cornstarch * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 tablespoon butter Method 1. Heat the milk in a saucepan until steaming but not boiling. 2. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and mix until smooth. 3. Slowly whisk about ½ cup of the warm milk into the egg mixture. 4. Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining milk. 5. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 3–5 minutes. 6. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and butter 7. Add to a bowl, cover with glad wrap and set in the fridge for minimum 20 minutes Cream Mixture * 1 cup thickened cream * 1/8 cup icing sugar * 1 Tsp vanilla 1. Fry your bread on both sides until golden then remove, and cut in half 2. Let cool completely before cutting the middle of the bread slice, and fill 3. For the cream just whisk all ingredients together until stiff peaks If you don’t let it cool completely the cream and custard will melt #deepfried #sando #japanesefood
