@evie_brooks: We’re going through some things privately as a family that I won’t share on here, but sometimes I don’t know where else to turn. Recently, E screamed at me through tears during a meltdown: ‘I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME!’ It absolutely broke me. Because I didn’t have the answer. I couldn’t fix it. When you’re their parent, you just want to take their pain away. But as an autism parent, there is no ‘fix’. But that’s the thing. It’s not about fixing or making them fit into the world. It’s about the world understanding them and their needs and supporting them every step of the way. It’s about loving them, accepting them and being there in the hardest moments. And I’ll always be there for him in those moments. Because I’m his mum. And he’s my baby ❤️
