i think banning youtube is crazy, especially because students use it for revising - it really helped me during gcses and now students can’t use it

Keir Starmer.. this is my main form of communication. All my friends don’t live where I live. I need to talk to my friends, it keeps me happy by communicating and connecting with my freinds, no matter the app. I live with 1 friend a few doors from me but either way I can’t go out with them everyday. It won’t make me happier but more lonely. I want to communicate with friends I can’t see other than at school. School is the only place I can talk to my friends in real life unless I’m out with them on the weekends or holiday. social media isn’t safe and never will be? Whatever the app. I genuinely worked so hard for my account as well. I understand their government don’t care about my account but this is Lowk what I love.

I agree with a social media ban for under 16s. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube can all expose kids to content that isn’t suitable even with filters and it’s hard for parents to monitor everything. Children should be spending more time outside at the library reading books and just enjoying being kids instead of being influenced by social media
