@amyeyers7: The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act is now law, and June 2026 brought some significant deadlines for local authorities. Here's a quick breakdown of what should be happening right now in children's social care. #ChildrensSocialCare #Safeguarding #ChildProtection #SocialWork #FamiliesFirst #WorkingTogether #ChildWelfare #SocialWorkUK #CPConference #ChildrensWellbeingAct
unfortunately that won't help everyone.
as long as the local authority moves children and their families out of area the families still won't qualify for the help and support needed.
the law needs to be clearer, it should be wherever the children attend school, gp services they should be helped by that authority.

But there is a wider safeguarding problem no one seems to see: once a narrative is accepted by professionals, it is too easily repeated, relied on and retained without proper challenge. Social workers often accept things at face value. This creates confirmation bias, not safeguarding. The govt should examine how safeguarding records are written, audited and retained, and require greater accountability where inaccurate or one-sided records cause harm to children and families.
