When my husband said “the overlook is about 10 min walk from the parking lot” then we were ended up walking 1.8 miles one way all uphill with small children and no water or snacks 😭

Saw a nature group on FB and they invite everyone to join. Cool! I'm in. show up for a wooded nature hike. 3 other people. They say hi. I say I'm new to the group. Cool. We start the hike. My fault I didn't read the fine print of the FB group event that this hike is 7.5 MILES. They don't even bring water. They go at a pace that is almost running. Leave me 50 yards behind the whole time. I cry at one point and consider multiple times if I can just turn around. Any time they stop to take a rest, I get up to them and they start right away. Jesus Christ. We finish in less than 2.5 hours. I go home, leave the FB group immediately and never try to do "group" events again. F'ing psychos.
