WESTERNROLLING TOWING SERVICE :
The Army is not just a profession to me; it is a way of life. I strive to live by its values, discipline, and established procedures. Unfortunately, some personnel, because of their different backgrounds or unwillingness to study and understand the profession, fail to appreciate how the military system operates. Many neglect to read military doctrine, regulations, and professional publications—both within the Nigerian Army and other professional armed forces. As a result, they often misunderstand the very institution they voluntarily chose to serve.
Discipline is not measured by how loudly one speaks on social media but by how faithfully one obeys lawful orders, protects sensitive information, and upholds the honour of the service. Those who ignore these principles should not mistake noise for courage. Broadcasting internal matters for public applause is not an act of bravery—it is often a sign of poor judgment and a lack of professionalism.
Likewise, some social media content creators have discovered that controversy attracts attention. Rather than present balanced facts, they repeatedly sensationalize military-related issues because outrage generates clicks, followers, and revenue. For them, every rumour becomes "breaking news" and every allegation becomes content. Chasing trends is easier than verifying facts.
It is unfortunate when serving personnel become willing sources for such platforms. Seeking validation from online commentators instead of using established military channels reflects misplaced priorities. Those who truly understand military professionalism know that genuine concerns are addressed through the chain of command and other authorized complaint mechanisms—not through anonymous leaks or social media campaigns.
Some people confuse popularity with credibility. A large following does not make misinformation true, and a viral video does not outweigh military regulations. The loudest voices online are not always the most knowledgeable; in many cases, they simply know how to attract attention.
The Armed Forces has existed through generations and will continue to stand on the foundation of discipline, loyalty, and professionalism—not on the opinions
