@robertleebarber: You cant coach commitment into someone. Leadership requires accountability. And good leaders should absolutely look in the mirror first. But there’s a leadership truth we don’t talk about enough: Sometimes the team is the problem. Sometimes expectations are clear. The coaching has happened. The support is available. The resources exist. And performance still doesn’t improve. Not every problem inside an organization is caused by leadership. Some problems are caused by unwillingness. Some are caused by entitlement. Some are caused by people who simply do not want the level of accountability, effort, or growth that success requires. Strong leaders take responsibility first. But they also have to be honest about reality. Because there comes a point where more coaching stops being development and starts becoming avoidance. You can teach skills. You can provide support. You can create opportunity. But you cannot coach commitment into someone who doesn’t want it. #leadership #leadershipskills
