@lingormkornnaphat: That night, Lingling couldn't sleep. She lay awake in her hotel room, staring at the ceiling while memories of Orm replayed endlessly in her mind. No matter how many times she turned or tried to clear her thoughts, the images kept coming back. Five years. Five years apart. Yet seeing her again felt like no time had passed at all. Lingling closed her eyes. But all she could see was Orm. Her smile that used to light up the darkest days. Her voice that once brought comfort. The sadness hidden behind her eyes yesterday. Most of all, the way she had said goodbye. "Take care, Ling." It sounded so distant. So polite. So different from the girl who once called her late at night just to hear her voice, even if it was only for a few minutes. A bitter smile appeared on Lingling's lips. Back then, they used to talk about everything. Their dreams. Their future. The home they wanted to build together. The life they promised they would share. But somewhere along the way, those conversations disappeared. And in their place came silence. The kind of silence that slowly destroys people. Lingling sat up and grabbed her phone from the bedside table. The screen lit up her tired face in the dark room. For a moment, she hesitated, her heart beating faster. Then she opened her contacts. Her thumb froze over the familiar name. Orm's number was still there. Five years later. She never deleted it. Never had the courage to. Lingling stared at the screen for a long time. A hundred words rushed through her mind. "I'm sorry. I missed you. I never stopped loving you." None of them felt enough. Because how could a few words fix five years of heartbreak and distance? Before she realized what she was doing, she opened their old conversation. The last message was from years ago. From the day everything ended. Her chest tightened. She remembered staring at that message countless nights. Wanting to reply. Wanting to explain. Wanting to fight for them. But fear had always won. Fear of rejection. Fear that Orm had already moved on. Fear that she was too late. And maybe she was. Slowly, Lingling typed a message. "Can we talk?" Her finger hovered over the send button. For several seconds, she simply stared at it. Then she sighed. And deleted every word. Some things were easier left unsaid. Or at least that's what she kept telling herself. --- Meanwhile, across the city, Orm sat alone on her apartment balcony. A cup of tea rested in her hands, now cold and forgotten. Just like the book lying open on her lap. She hadn't read a single page since she sat down. Her thoughts were somewhere else. With someone else. Lingling. Seeing her again had brought back emotions Orm thought she had buried years ago. Emotions she spent years trying to forget. She hated how easily Lingling could still affect her. One glance. One smile. And suddenly all the walls she built around her heart felt weaker than ever. Orm looked up at the night sky, the stars faint against the city glow. For years, she told herself she was over Lingling. That she had moved on. That the past no longer mattered. But tonight proved otherwise. Because if she was truly over her then why did her heart still hurt this much? And why, after all these years, did she still wish things had ended differently? Neither of them knew it yet. But fate wasn't finished with their story. Not even close. Because some words remain unsaid for years only to find their way back when the timing is finally right. #Austory #GL #thaigl #linglingkwong #ormkornnaphat
