@captain_kellyjgordon: A fire breaks out on board. What call do you make? Every month I'll be sharing the call I'd make as Captain, from my @IcomAmericaInc radio of course, and I want to hear from you too! What would you do? #icomamerica #captainscall
Can u also discuss how to properly disclose your coordinates?

Repeat the location - if I’m driving alone it might take me a second to get a pen and paper

I don't think it's the correct way as a skipper myself but I understand the point. the first crucial seconds of a fire detection are the make or break between a control situation or total chaos. I reckon assessment of fire/location/immediate action, if a fire extinguisher can't put it off hardly else will before it's too late. again assessing the place type and status are crucial.

You may want to think about pulling the haylon system first.

Endless Quest :
I did the same simulated fire drill, except I made one big mistake: I had the mic keyed. What proceeded was 3 minutes of every on-the-water law enforcement, marine fire department unit, and aviation helo responding on VHF CH-16.😳
