@lifeofkiandbug: 7months pregnant, alone, mounting these dogs to try and break up dog fights. Having to say goodbye to one on Christmas Eve bc of her aggression, and then finding the other one passed away in a corner on Christmas morning. They passed 15hours apart from each other. My forever girls ❤️ #animalloss #souldog #dragpath
you guys in the comments, a aggressive dog will never be rehomed. we had a dog who continuously attacked my dog and eventually when we rehomed it no shelter would take her, she ended up going to a mobile home with absolutely no dogs + shes now just alone.

💙❤️Our dog Roscoe lived for our other dog Ryker. We didn’t know Ryker was dying from cancer. Roscoe died on Wednesday and Ryker died Thursday

people in the comments acting like you shouldn't have put down your very sick, aggressive dog when your health and baby's safety as well as the safety of all family members and other pets was at risk is insane. especially when you clearly did your best to find other options. so sorry for the loss of your fur baby and I hope your family finds healing. also good luck with baby and congrats! 🩷

this is so crazy because i lived almost the exact same experience. i was 8 months pregnant when my two pits fought. i was trying to break it up ended up with a broken finger sprained ankle and stitches in my hands and cuts all up and down my body. had to make the impossible decision to put to rest my soul dog because she was unfortunately the aggressor. (this was the second time she attacked her brother resulting in serious injury in them both). i tried for a whole month to rehome her/surrender her to a pit rescue but no one was accepting. it was either keep her in my house with a newborn and risk everyone’s safety or let her go. it was the hardest decision ive ever had to make. miss her so much. thought i was alone in this experience. i see you and i feel with you.

You did what was best for you, your baby, and the dog. Behavioral euthanasia is agonising but she wouldn't have been able to have a truly happy and fulfilling life around other dogs and clearly posed a serious risk to you and others. <3 thank you for doing the right thing

I’m so sorry. Behavioral euth is very tough. After seeing them during my time at a shelter I want to just share with you what I tell everyone I spoke with about it. The choice you made is one of the most loving, selfless acts you can do in this situation. The amount of strength and courage it takes to make that call is huge. It speaks volumes about the level of care you provide for your pets, not only allowing peace for your dog who was struggling internally but making safety for the other family members a priority as well. You can try to work on reactivity that leads to bites but if there’s no trigger and nothing that you can control, it’s not something that can be worked on and that’s just the reality that people don’t like to accept. The risks go up when the dog is bigger because they naturally are going to be more strong, it’s harder to break up fights, separation and making sure everyone is getting enough enrichment is hard, ect. I’m so sorry that you also lost your other dog the next day, that is such a terrible loss. My heart is with you and in a world where I’ve seen a lot of dogs suffer, thank you for giving them only love, peace, and care during their time here. ❤️

I had to behavioral euthanize my dog when I was 37 weeks, he had no specific triggers and would completely randomly attack me and he went after my 1 year old nephew once, most people don’t understand that it’s next to impossible to rehome them and no rescues accept aggressive dogs. You did what was best for your family

Do not let these people get to you. We had a family dog who loved me while pregnant but after my baby was born he attacked my baby while we all sleep while he was three weeks old. Luckily my baby only had straches and no real bites DO NOT ever risk it it’s not worth it

Dogs can smell when another is sick it’s a common reaction for them to attack so that the illness doesn’t spread through the pack out in nature bless them and bless you must’ve been so hard ❤️
