it cracks when you haven't used enough water while making it. It dries hard so, if theres not enough water in it as it dries it cracks. it's nothing to fo with what you make, whether your good or not, it's the water in it, or not in it. ive used it for 13 years. spritz your item when you've finished it to give it a final bit of water
