TLDR the lore of Folderol was that it a couple that wanted it to be a family/neighborhood joint where kids can go and have ice cream while they take wine, but bc of TikTok/instagram it turned into this viral hotspot everyone wanted to go and take pics in so now they enforce a no photo/tiktok rule

LOL we legit stumbled across folderol when we were in Paris two weeks ago, legit like 20 mins before they closed bc we wanted ice cream — truly best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever had in my life, truly. We had it at the beginning of our trip & I proceeded to dream about it for two weeks

I went there in 2024 before I think it got so viral and it was such an incredible experience, the wine was lovely the bartenders were so nice and I def took photos and videos because they had a little dog that they just put on the bar 😂 I had no idea it went this viral and when I went back two weeks ago there was a massive line down the block 😭😭 so sad to see this happen because it really was such a special spot!

I went when I was visiting last month and it was so good! There were 2 men behind me (we struck up a conversation bc one was Québécois and I was visiting from Canada) and the Parisian man suggested I try the olive oil ice cream. It was amazing! They also invited me to sit on the bench and chill with them. Overall had a great experience there, the service was good, not super friendly but not rude. They let me sample before choosing the wine I wanted which I appreciated

💯 Use to be an OG Folderol fan - friends and I would go there at least once a month for over a year in 21/22 before it became insta famous. The wine selection, ice-cream and service was always stellar. Pretty sad now that whenever I pass by it’s way too busy 🥲
