its not only parents, either. my parents were wonderful but i felt completely invisible in kindergarten and elementary school, both from students and teachers. and i essentially experienced the exact same thing you‘re describing in this tiktok

But I don't deserve to feel this awful when people who went through much worse are doing much better. It's not fair to them. I don't understand. There's so much bs in my brain that you saying all of this makes me even more confused cause I do maladaptive daydream and imagine the singing stuff but it's never *me* it's an insert of some sorts.. I wonder if certain kids are simply born needing more emotional validation than others? For example, my sisters and I were raised by the same parents but they never cared to be told they’re loved, seen, etc. whereas I needed that deeply. Sadly, my parents weren’t the type to open up emotionally so I’ve spent the rest of my life doing things for attention so that ppl will see me and fulfill the void I’ve developed :(

My parents were always emotionally unavailable to me, to anyone actually, they just can't apparently. When i talked to them about it as an adult they told me "how could you say we were not there for you when we bought you xyz, took you to music school, etc etc"
