@chordcamera: F Major: Turnaround + Circle of Fifths (Hybrid Progression) In this video, I present a chord progression that combines a typical 1-6-2-5 turnaround with a circle of fifths movement (4-7-3-6-2-5-1), but with some specific variations: The Turnaround Section After the tonic chord (Fmaj7), I use a secondary dominant (A7) to prepare for the transition to the sixth degree (Dm9). Additionally, there is a suspended dominant chord (C9sus4) before landing back on the tonic. The Circle of Fifths Section Following the first chord (Bbmaj7 = IVM7), the subsequent chord is not the expected Em7b5 (viiø7) according to the circle of fifths, but a substitute chord (C/Bb) that shares three out of four notes with the original. By keeping the Bb in the bass, it creates a pleasant "pedal" effect. In the final cadence, a suspended dominant chord is used once again. Finally, the tonic chord is labeled as Fadd2; alternatively, it could be indicated as Fadd9. However, the presence of the G note (2nd = 9th) in a rather internal, "hidden" position suggests that "add2" is perhaps more appropriate than "add9." But this is a very minor, and all things considered, irrelevant technicality.
