Maybe it’s because Rick is going through a lot mentally currently cuz of the stuff that happened in last seasons finale. Also I think they just stopped romanticizing ricks alcoholism and are showing how Rick is acting off screen when drunk, cuz we’ve only seen snippets of this behavior before

I've rewatched this fist episode about 3 times now and the new episodes This isn't our Rick or Morty It's evil morty time traveling. Even says it beginning of episode one. Evil Morty even says Rick showed him some time travel stuff Time police arrest evil morty for time traveling not freezing time. When Rick froze time the time police did not arrest him they just fixed the time Evil Morty is visiting his past. Maybe to change the course of his direction? Or make himself evolved faster? A second him? Either way Rick definitely did not revert this far backward after moving forward two seasons. Also in this dimension they have A pool. That isn't something we have in our typical watch. Mortys tech also matches this ricks tech which is actually not as advanced as our typically Rick. His mechanical limbs are gold, this Rick's are dusty grey.

that's not our rick, the fact that he had to ask for help so fast which what rick c137 would never do, ask for help. Second, comparing this to the previous episode AND episode 5, it was way far and different. Some lines Rick said I'm this episode also proves it's evil Morty's backstory.
