I have only discovered this account now however I have become hooked to these videos! I am unsure if you have answered a question like this before, however would a flashback be an appropriate narrative device to start a story. For example the story starts with a drastic event that's happened a couple years before the main narrative takes place and it's up for the protagonist to find out about it. I have heard that using dreams as starting chapters are frowned upon in literary, however are flashbacks seen the same way? Love the content!
