@duchessbarbee: This is my Bichon Frisè Miss Lady Cherree Crockett. I have had Miss Lady since she was 10 weeks old. She will be 16 years old in September. Lately her vision is going and she's developed cataracts, sometimes she hears me and sometimes she can be startled by not knowing we were there. I try to keep the same routine so she doesn't stumble, bump into anything or anyone or hurt herself. It breaks my heart to see her struggle at times and I am clueless how to help beyond what I currently do. I called the Vet and took her on Friday. She currently weighs 14.80 lbs. She has a heart murmur and now has to be on a low sodium diet so I now have to prepare her meals vs buying them since some dogfoods have high sodium amounts in them. She also needs dental care that will help her feel better as well. I expressed my concern at her being under anesthesia with her age and Doc assured me that a blood test will be administered to check her levels and if they are low, the procedure will not be done. I am soo thankful for the years I have been blessed to have my companion and furbaby. I can't imagine my life without her and don't want to today. Do you have a senior dog who requires special care? Please talk to me and give me some pointers you use.
