I separated from the navy after 17 years in October 2025. I can say that being on this side has definitely helped with stress and anxiety. There’s a point where the military doesn’t get fun anymore and maybe that’s what you’re feeling. You’re just going through the motions where life feels like you’re on cruise control and you’re numb to the world.

Lost my best friend a few years ago. I thought I was fine, but I realized I was just pushing shit down and ignoring my needs. The stigma behind getting BH appointments is real but it got to the point where I would literally blink and Id have like 5 more parachutes packed on my quota that I had no memory of packing, as a parachute rigger that’s not okay 😂 had to tell my ncos and luckily they were super supportive. It’s okay to not be okay. When I made 5 and got to my next unit I promised myself and my soldiers that their mental health will be an absolute priority and I will never criticize for needing help. Good luck man, we’re here for you

Nothing wrong at all with going to BH. Have to take care of yourself mentally, especially when you start to notice physical changes. You got it brother

It may sound selfish when I say this, but in some instances the number one most important person in your life is your self. Bc if you aren’t good, how can the people who depend on you be good? Sometimes we have to take care of ourselves.
