@abujagist: The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough in its sustained operations against kidnapping and banditry within the Paze–Byazhin axis, a border area linking the FCT, Kaduna, and Niger States. Following an earlier operation on 9th June 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, led a follow-up tactical raid on 11th June 2026 targeting a suspected criminal hideout in the Paze hills area. Four suspects were arrested: * Yahaya Abdullahi * Muhammed Yunusa * Hauwa Shafiu * Shamsudeen Mustapha Investigations indicate that the suspects are part of a coordinated criminal support network involved in kidnapping and banditry activities across the FCT and neighbouring states. They reportedly confessed that the location served as a convergence point where armed groups coordinated attacks, shared intelligence, and received logistical support including food, medical supplies, drugs, and other essentials. In a further clearance operation on 15th June 2026, the Commissioner of Police again led operatives to the site, where the hideout was completely dismantled and makeshift structures destroyed, effectively disrupting the network’s operational base. One of the suspects, Hauwa Shafiu, allegedly responsible for logistics support, was pregnant at the time of arrest and has since delivered a baby while in lawful custody, where both mother and child are receiving medical care. The Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the network and dismantle remaining cells.
