As someone who grew up in a very bad situation, I developed quite serious anger issues, and anxiety on top of having adhd. By the time I grew up into an adult, I developed healthy coping mechanism’s, and no longer lashed out with violence. I learned not to react, to walk away. And as ted says be a goldfish. This show became my comfort show. Ted himself shows us he is not perfect, he struggles with some of the same issues other characters do, but is so wise in a way to help. He’s not a coach, he’s a dad, a friend. He’s that guy you never forget. Even as a fictional character. Since the show I’ve attempted to inherit some of his positive characteristics, and qualities. The shows slogan “believe” is an everyday moto we should all follow. Believe in yourself in every endeavor. Believe everything will be okay. Believe in positivity. You got this.
