In my 53+ years of studying & teaching breathwork, I’ve learned every technique I teach from a master before me — Leonard Orr, Babaji, the Russian Sistema teachers, the Chinese Chi Kung lineages, all of them. Except this one... This one I invented myself. It’s called the Anti-Depressant Breath — also known as the Fountain Breath, because of the shape it traces. It came out of a 7-year journey with a client suffering from severe clinical depression. Tense. Unresponsive. Locked inside himself. Until one day, mid-session, he took a tiny, almost imperceptible breath. Most people wouldn’t have noticed. To me, it was a sign of life. The first opening in years. So I matched him. He breathed. I breathed. His breaths grew. Slowly. Then bigger. Then deeper. Then breath by breath, he came back. This technique was born from that moment. Here’s how it works: The breath is shaped like a fountain — or a wedge. It starts tiny and builds into a powerful surge. ▸ Start almost imperceptibly. A tiny sip of breath drawn in through the mouth, with the tongue creating a narrow passage at the roof. ▸ Draw it up — from the tailbone, up through the body, all the way to the crown of your head. ▸ As it rises, accelerate. Intensify. The breath gains momentum like an accelerating current. ▸ At the top, let it explode out — through the crown — and cascade down around you like water from a fountain. ▸ Add sound on the exhale. Not a sound of sadness or pain. A sound of pleasure, release, joy. Whatever total release sounds like for you. 5 to 10 rounds is enough. A note if you’re struggling with depression: this breath can absolutely complement professional support — but please don’t use it as a substitute. Talk to your doctor, therapist, or someone you trust. Your healing is worth all the tools, not just one. Watch the video & breathe along with me. What did you feel? Comment below. Wake up. Let go. Take charge. — Dan #breathwork #breathworktechniques
