@curatedbyliam: The things I’d do to spend a night in the Mead Hall back in 632AD. These were places of celebration, gifting, political decision making and heroic tales of battles. We know from Beowulf and Bede that these halls during the Anglo-Saxon period were owned by kings or powerful lords, who would invite guests as well as give gifts of gold to his troops as a reward for service. There are many extremely impressive buildings throughout history, but there’s something about the mead hall that appeals to me, and if I could choose one place to go back in time, it would be to witness a night of celebrations in the mead hall! 🐝
