Both are really important. Even if it's rare for someone to have a high level on both of them, IQ and EQ is very essential. EQ is for understanding people and their emotions and cause of actions (More efficient for societal standards). And IQ is about cognitive functions and thinking outside of the box, most people who have a higher IQ don't usually have many people they're around, and feel more like outsiders because they understand and see more than an ordinary person would. Of course, it's just my opinion and what I think, doesn't mean it's necessarily correct. I'm just interested in things and am still learning about it (In life we learn everyday, so it's good to stay curious, because elderly people also still learn, we are basically students until the end of our lifes)

high EQ would result in at least a somewhat higher IQ even if it doesn't exactly mean you'd be a genius, but having high IQ won't necessarily mean you'll also have relatively high EQ imo
