You’re right. I became who I wish I had growing up for others, while forgetting about myself. I did not purposely forget about myself obviously. It took years for me to realize that I had been neglecting myself. I was always putting others feelings, wants and needs before my own without thinking. I did stop doing that. Now I am working on showing up for myself. What’s sad is, that I struggle doing that. Why? I have no idea.

I noticed that I had to set some serious boundaries when it came to helping people because I end up losing myself when supporting others. After a few years of therapy I am discovering who I am as a person and trying out all kinds of new things. I am a good listener and support my friends but I remember to put my mental health first so I can help others x
