Do you know the AVERAGE growth rate of a lash? its why we need to educate our clients on maintenance, when it comes to maintaining our lashes the reason we have to have maintenance is because our lashes grow on average 0.12-0.14mm per day during its active growing stage known as anagen. When we apply a lash it needs to be placed 0.5mm from the skin the reason for this is to ensure that the lashes are not touching the skin to cause discomfort and not to far away that its putting weight on the end of the lash causing discomfort and twisting as it grows out more. During maintenance appointments the main priority of the appointment is to: Remove outgrown lashes and re-apply a fresh lash to them back to its original place apply a fresh extension to the new lashes that have come through but bare in mind these need to be shorter and less in weight due to these then will be in their active growing stage which means when they come back in 2-3 weeks they will be grow out. This is exactly why in order for your lashes to remain full you need to look after your lashes and ensure that there is a sufficient amount of lashes left on because around 40% will need re applying in total whether that’s removing it. you also may notice lashes shedding with your natural lash attached that is completely normal as right underneath that lash would of been a fresh lash in its early anagen phase coming through once at a certain length a fake lash can be applied to this new lash and the cycle begins again.
