On my alt account bc I can never admit this but when I lost my whole friend group my senior year of hs I would hide in the locker room showers during school assemblies bc I was so embarrassed to sit alone while everyone else had friends. I would sit and think about how I try to tell myself I’m not weird and there has to be other people who have done the same but that it’s not likely. The realization really hit me when people would walk into the locker room and I would hold my breath and wait in the dark sitting on the shower bench until they left. And if I stayed in there too long the assembly would end and tons of people would come into the locker room so I’d have to wait it out and pray that no one came and opened up the shower curtain. I was the loneliest I have ever been during my senior year. I didn’t go to prom, I didn’t paint a parking spot, I didn’t go to senior sunrise, or go to a grad single party. I was just alone
