YES bc it boils down to convenience. Most people with 8-4 or 9-5 jobs are getting their coffee around 6-7am. Service needs to be efficient, the drinks and food should taste good, and add ons should be reasonable. I’m not paying $1 for 1 pump of vanilla syrup, $1 for oat milk, and $1 to have it iced.

I believe that there are two types of cafés: ones that serve the early morning and lunch crowd and ones that are third spaces that stay open late. I noticed a lot of owners don’t wanna get up early and they don’t wanna host anyone or be up late at night. The lunch market crowd is dead as everyone’s losing their jobs in corporate.

I worked and ran a Starbucks for two years. We opened at 6 and had people waiting outside our door DAILY. If you want a successful business you have to cater to everyone’s hours🤷🏽♀️also a lot of smaller coffee shops lack consistency with their drinks
