I think what really annoyed me was when I went to the store and realized I had forgotten my debit card standing in the checkout line with a full cart at 8:00pm. I added my card to the Walmart app wallet, but when I went to pay with it it wouldn’t work and the cashier said it would only work if I signed up for Walmart+. My husband had to stop by the store on his way home from work to meet me and pay for everything. I could have just used Apple Pay and been out the door, but they want to force as many people onto their Walmart+ subscription as they possibly can.

I don't understand it either. I use tap with my debit card so if I have to insert my card it's no big deal. Walmart is the only store in my little town so I have to insert my card quite often. Its not that bad.

I think it’s because it’s an extra couple of steps in check out, which Walmart makes you do for yourself 9/10 times anyway. I think keeping it simple and wait-free with a quick tap would be easier than the insert, wait, pin, wait, and print receipt process. Honestly, the real outrage should be over being able to scan everything in your cart with the app but then still have to wait in line to check out 😭 so upset we can’t just check out from the app like Sam’s
