@tennessean_: Residents from over a dozen states saw a fireball blaze across the night sky in a rarely visible event. Late on June 14, a bright fireball streaked across the sky in at least 15 states, including Tennessee, leaving a blue-green streak for just a few seconds. Many meteorologists are theorizing that the fireball passed roughly over the Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Kentucky border area, moving towards St. Louis. The phenomenon was caused by a small piece of an asteroid hitting our atmosphere and burning up, creating the bright, colorful light. #Tennessee #Meteors #Asteroid
